[edit] Looking Good
Hey that looks really good mate. Better then any i could make :) 86.29.177.137 12:35, 17 May 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Concerning the logo
I used Macromedia Flash. What worries me right now is that the option 'South Park crowd scene' has the most votes on the poll right now, and that isn't exactly what my logo is. McBob 17:36, 17 May 2008 (UTC)
- So, what's the status of the logo situation? Is the poll actually going to dictate what the new logo will be? 'Cause I kinda prefer the one I made. McBob 07:29, 21 May 2008 (UTC)
- Ah well. If 'South Park crowd scene' ends up getting the most votes, I s'pose I could take my logo and squeeze a bunch of other characters in the background. Voilà. A crowd. McBob 06:48, 23 May 2008 (UTC)
Very Nice Logo. It look like it's going to pass as well, I voted for it. So Mr.Garrison, I won't be around a lot. Many new computer issues with my new computer. Were trying to fix it and were getting technical support on it. I mean, the main damage is already gone, thats why I have been gone long, but in the future more stuff may come up that will force me to be absent >.< Lemniwinks 06:06, 27 May 2008 (UTC)
Vandal problem? Shit. I had to deal with that once on another Wiki. What are they doing? Lemniwinks 19:52, 27 May 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Cleanup
Hi, I'd be happy to do some cleanup. But you should be able to block users and delete pages. Don't you see buttons for that? The block user button will appear in recent changes or in a history of a page.... Delete appears as an option at the top of pages, and you can also do "rollback" (visible in the history page) which returns the page to the state it was in before the vandal hit it. -- Wendy (talk) 23:30, 26 May 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Affiliates
Wasn't sure who to ask...you're the only Admin I know. I was wondering if the South Park Fanon Wiki and the South Park Archives, could become affiliates. --JVM 01:26, 19 June 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Front page
Hi again! You may have seen the site notices about Wikia's New Style. A new ad is going to be turned on soon for the front page, so I'll be adding some code to make sure that the layout doesn't break when this happens. I just wanted to let you know in case you saw those changes and didn't understand what was going on. If you have any questions about it, please let me know. Thanks! —Scott (talk) 13:52, 1 August 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Becoming an Admin
Who do i see about possibly becoming an admin? Your the only admin i've seen active recently.
Ah cheers Mr. Garrison.
- We haven't had many active admins at all. We need a couple more. I know you have one in mind. Might I be the second?. I know this will be my 88th edit here. But I'm a veteran wiki editor at Zelda Wiki.org. And there are some hundreds of edits I have in mind to make here. I just reverted vandalism and I realized just how vulnerable we are. There isn't enough admins to block vandals and there is no guarantee that we can get one of the Wikia staff over in a timely fashion. So what do you say?--Matt 16:49, 3 November 2008 (UTC)
- I think I'm ready for this. This is edit 275. So I guess you can put that request for adminship up now. There are plenty of edits where those came from. Here are some of my qualifications (from my activity at Zelda Wiki.org):
- I'm really good at designing templates.
- I have had over six months of experience editing wikis.
- I regularly help out new users to learn and understand how to edit.
- I typically average 1000 edits per month at my other wiki. And I don't really spend a huge amount of time there.
- I have experience fighting vandalism on Wikipedia using Twinkle.
- I plan to be on this wiki often.
- I'm a perfectionist. Consequently, I fix spelling errors and redirects often.
- I hope that helps out. A lot of this can be confirmed by simply looking at my contributions there. I can leave a note for you there if you need proof that that is indeed my account.--Matt 09:10, 5 November 2008 (UTC)
- I don't know if you've checked my userpage yet. But feel that you should know that I'm now an administrator of Zelda Wiki.org. Given the low traffic of South Park Archives, I'll be able to do admin duties here too. I've already had the admin experience. Deleting junk content, editing interface pages, banning vandals, etc. I've gotten a lot of positive feedback from the other members about my actions as an admin. So I am more qualified now than I was before. Perhaps this deserves a mention in my nomination page here.—Matt (talk) 09:00, November 29, 2008 (UTC)
Quick question. I have two votes for me. And since it has been a while and there was no opposition, is that enough for my adminship? I'm asking because I've notice quite a bit of vandalism lately and I'd rather be able to take care of it myself than wait for Uberfuzzy or you. By the way, my adminship is going well at Zelda Wiki.org and I have tons of hands-on experience already.—Matt (talk) 21:47, December 20, 2008 (UTC)
[edit] I'm going to improve the South Park Archives Forum
Since the South Park Archives Forum was started, there have been absolutely no topics or posts in it. Now I have decided to improve the forum and make it a better place. However, I cannot come up with any good ideas for a topic. Seeing as you may be the only admin in this wiki, can you give me any ideas? God, it's like I'm trying to construct Brasilia. Jim856796 05:51, 21 August 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Eventually yes.
Right now i'm focusing on some easy non-admin (but very important) tasks in welcoming the users and sorting out the redirects, you have a lot of the episode pages done, but quite a lot arn't fully recognised because articles that are meant to be linking to them link to uncreated pages, which should be made into redirects.
But for a shorter answer: at some point yes I would like to become an admin :)
--Semajdraehs- any replies to my Talk page 19:57, 2 September 2008 (UTC)
[edit] P.S I do have one concern to address with you while were both active
articles like: Things User:Wilhelmina Will went through for the mass production of episode articles, from Jan. 12 - 13, 2008.
(and there seem to be a lot them) should be moved out of the mainspace, I was going to check with you first before I make the moves.
--Semajdraehs- any replies to my Talk page 20:00, 2 September 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Concerning new seasons content
You've reminded me that as far as creating new content is concernded i'll pretty much be useless. As I live in the UK, we get South Park a bit after you get it and I'm pretty much watching them as I get them in DVD boxsets rather than watching them of the TV, the adverts on pramount comedy 2 piss me off.But of course I will be able to add to existing content and redirects/welcoming users and unwikipediaing pages.
--Semajdraehs- any replies to my Talk page 16:27, 3 September 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Concerning the logo
I think the polls have enough of a swing in the direction of the four boys now, are we going to change the logo and if so did you have any ready or are we just going to ask JoePlay to knock us one up?
--Semajdraehs- any replies to my Talk page 18:06, 3 September 2008 (UTC)
[edit] You seem to have missed a change, Unfortunatly your logo can no longer be used
the logo's now need to be a set size of pixels, that are square like the Ike one, the four boys logo you suggest is rectangular. I would go w:c:central:User talk:JoePlay and put a link to that logo and ask him to help resize/redesign if necessary. Then he can also upload it for you. He's quite friendly and is very good with logo's (he's helped me with the fire emblem, advance wars and adrian mole ones).P.s make sure to leave a link to the south park wiki.
--Semajdraehs- any replies to my Talk page 22:04, 3 September 2008 (UTC)
- There is also The Logo Creation Wiki where you can ask for a new logo -- they are very good. -- Wendy (talk) 13:28, 4 September 2008 (UTC)
Have you contacted either yet? (just wonderin')
--Semajdraehs- any replies to my Talk page 22:19, 4 September 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Can you please block User:139.142.201.237
he randomly inserted swastica into the Cartman article, if you look at his contributions/ history of that article.

[edit] Logo uploaded
Hey Mr. Garrison (haha cool name!). I uploaded that image as the logo as you requested. If you need anything else, just ask. JoePlay (talk) 17:29, 5 September 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Oh I guess that image did work...
my mistake.
--Semajdraehs- any replies to my Talk page 17:31, 5 September 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Problem with term de-wikify
when on other wiki's the term 'wikify' means to add internal links and other wiki stuff. To not give people the wrong idea maybe we should change the term to 'de-wikipediafy', 'de-pediafy' or just 'south park-afy'
or any good sounding terms you can come up with.
P.S can't really think of anything else to enhance the site, other than maybe a redo of the main page and the featured article needs switching.
--Semajdraehs- any replies to my Talk page 17:19, 6 September 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Do we have a stub template?
I can't seem to find it.
--Semajdraehs- any replies to my Talk page 17:29, 6 September 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Two things
- Just remembered some wiki's have their own IRC channels, one of those could be good for the wiki. (not sure how they work though).
- Shoudn't Forum:Do we need to de-wikify pages be under Forum:Wiki talk and Forum:Favorite character be under Forum:Watercooler and for that matter they don't appear in the wiki index overall let alone worry about them being in the right place.
--Semajdraehs- any replies to my Talk page 17:38, 6 September 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Damn forgot to post
Only just noticed now my post I last made didn't show up, ironically I said maybe we should consider splitting up the minor characters lists as the whole list of minor characters thing only applies to wikipedia who are limited by the fact they are an encclopedia as a wikia we can have much more in depth information.
Sorry about the incovieniance, but I thought I already posted that
--Semajdraehs- any replies to my Talk page 18:03, 6 September 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Yes, but you will also have to draw up guidlines then
I mean Damien (character) has his own article and it is pretty measurable and so doesn't need a bit on the minor character bit (which it does have). So we need some distinct rules drawn up as to what or what does not qualify as a minor character.
Also not sure if you know, but the forums don't work :(
maybe we should get one of the helpers to work on that.
--Semajdraehs- any replies to my Talk page 18:14, 6 September 2008 (UTC)
I think we should use those standards and alter the lists accordingly, if the lists barely have one or two each, we should merge them into one, if they are of any real size, then keep them seperate.
--Semajdraehs- any replies to my Talk page 18:32, 6 September 2008 (UTC)
P.S what are we doing about the unworking forums?
--Semajdraehs- any replies to my Talk page 18:35, 6 September 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Not quite sure what you mean...
Could you kind of rephrase that?
--Semajdraehs- any replies to my Talk page 14:46, 7 September 2008 (UTC)
Yes that seems a fine idea
--Semajdraehs- any replies to my Talk page 15:08, 7 September 2008 (UTC)
[edit] About the navigational templates
(i.e Template:South Park Families)
Do you think we should have one listing the episodes of each season, to place on any article of that particular season.
--Semajdraehs- any replies to my Talk page 15:12, 7 September 2008 (UTC)
No i mean at the bottom of every episde page we could have something like Template:South Park Families with all the episodes in that season on it.
P.S maybe we should record all these new projects under South Park Archives:Projects so we don't forget them.

should we add that bit back to the sidebar so the category fits in (and bcause I like that bit on the side bar).

any thoughts?
--Semajdraehs- any replies to my Talk page 18:15, 13 September 2008 (UTC)
These Users Are Featured, it you hover over community on the left side then hover over featured users their names will be there
This part is no longer on the sidebar, lets bring it back.
--Semajdraehs- any replies to my Talk page 18:20, 13 September 2008 (UTC)
[edit] You can add it back here
P.S Can I put up a request for adminship?
--Semajdraehs- any replies to my Talk page 18:27, 13 September 2008 (UTC)
Could you create that page for me as I don't really know what to put, I would be glad to help with the mainpage redesign and do you need some help with that mediawiki edit for the sidebar or are you ok with it?
--Semajdraehs- any replies to my Talk page 18:42, 13 September 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Incorrect Page Titles
It seems that a few members saw fit to move a every page with "is" in the title to capitalize the "i" in "is". This was not correct and was not how the actual titles were. In my own opinion, this constitutes vandalism. I have a great deal of experience fighting vandalism. This is it. I moved back a few of the pages already, but there are likely more.--Mjr162006 19:49, 25 October 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Naming Standards
So I've been thinking. Wikipedia names articles about people by their most-well-known name. They will have their full name in the first sentence of the article. Now I strongly disagree with many of Wikipedia's policies. But not with this one. So we should move the page "Leopold "Butters" Stotch" to "Butters Stotch". And move "Eric Theodore Cartman" back to "Eric Cartman". Does that sound good to you?—Matt (talk) 20:51, November 9, 2008 (UTC)
- You have to move the Butters one. It won't let me. I'm not an admin yet.—Matt (talk) 21:28, November 9, 2008 (UTC)
- Don't forget to move the Butters one. What exactly do you want that character thing to be like? You seem to be doing well with it. I'm good at removing backgrounds if you need that.—Matt (talk) 22:11, November 9, 2008 (UTC)
- I wasn't exactly what I wanted. I improved it. I'm still not happy with the hands. But it is much better.—Matt (talk) 23:09, November 9, 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Ideas
I created this template over at Zelda Wiki.org. Do you want something similar here? Or are you happy with the banner that you are currently using?—Matt (talk) 00:04, November 10, 2008 (UTC)
- That also gave me another idea. Should we have our favicon depict Kenny instead of Ike? I'd think that Kenny would be better. I'm capable of creating it.—Matt (talk) 00:06, November 10, 2008 (UTC)
It is done. So how do we do this change?—Matt (talk) 08:04, November 11, 2008 (UTC)
- I'm used to a privately owned wiki. In that one changing it would be simple. But it is different here. We just have to call up one of the Wikia staff. They'll know.—Matt (talk) 17:18, November 11, 2008 (UTC)
I tried uploading it so they could get it, but I'm not sure that it worked. It might have to be done another way. .ico wasn't a permitted file type at my other wiki.—Matt (talk) 17:23, November 11, 2008 (UTC)
- btw, what wiki was it that .ico wasnt permitted? was it at Wikia? --Uberfuzzy 16:26, 13 November 2008 (UTC)
- Yep. Here it is. We will have to contact Wikia staff on changing it to this.—Matt (talk) 20:47, November 11, 2008 (UTC)
- Nope, they have a way for local Wikia admins to do it. Take this icon, save it, then upload it in place of File:Favicon.ico. It should be that simple.—Matt (talk) 23:09, November 13, 2008 (UTC)
It'll take a while for the new icon to show up. So about the articles that are solid red-links... I'm getting a feeling that they were copied directly from Wikipedia.Given that a lot of the links are piped, it makes sense. Any thoughts to that?—Matt (talk) 16:13, November 14, 2008 (UTC)
- Could we semi-protect the article The List? Anons keep on removing that theory on what the real list is. It is valid content. Semi-protection blocks anons and newly registered users from editing the page. After being registered for four days, they become auto-confirmed.—Matt (talk) 01:58, November 15, 2008 (UTC)
- Great idea to keep out the illegal stuff. Gotta keep the place clean. I'll help out with the images I guess. I do a lot of that at ZW.org. But my current project is the List of Episodes. I'm going to clean it up and simplify it. I don't need help with it and it won't take as long as the images will.—Matt (talk) 01:29, November 16, 2008 (UTC)
- I think I can solve that one edit. Using that template thing. Give me a second.—Matt (talk) 12:06, November 18, 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Links to this Wiki
Hey -- I notice you edit on wikipedia as well as here. I wondered if you'd ever considered adding some links back to this wiki on some of the South Park articles there? That way people who want more info than WP has can find it, and maybe some more people like you would like working in both places :).
Adding the links is pretty easy. The format is [[wikia:southpark|South Park Archives]], or to link to a specific page, [[wikia:southpark:Stan|Stan at South Park Archives]].
Anyhow, I just thought I'd mention it :). -- Wendy (talk) 23:47, 21 November 2008 (UTC)
- Oh -- I saw you had a user page/edits on wikipedia; I didn't realize you don't use it any more. I'm not sure who else would edit there (I don't). I see User:Wilhelmina Will also has a user page there, but she hasn't been on this wiki in a while. Still perhaps we could ask her?? -- Wendy (talk) 00:47, 23 November 2008 (UTC)
- Some of the users there aren't happy with all the links to Wikia wikis on Wikipedia. But some have suggested to link some South Park articles to South Park Archives. Presently I'm thinking we should wait on that. While we have much more information on characters and places here, Wikipedia has a more complete set of articles on the episodes. I'm afraid linking will only encourage more direct copying from Wikipedia. If they decide to do that over there anyway, then we should let them. It won't take too long to build up our episode articles.—Matt (talk) 11:01, November 23, 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Redirects
I done some redirect cleanup. I've noticed some that should be deleted. So far, it is the ones that are listed here that are not crossed out.—Matt (talk) 10:54, November 23, 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Episode Pages
I completely forgot about your message about it on my page. But I did it anyway. The episode page are way too inconsistent. I agree with you there. I started with one random later season. Then I did the first few seasons. So you can take a look at those to see what I've had in mind so far. I'm sure that they can be improved further.—Matt (talk) 21:04, December 21, 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Names
I was thinking that it would be a good idea to have the names of all the admins, as well as any Wikia Helpers and Staff that have pages here, have their names colored in the recent changes page and in page histories. I know exactly how to do this. The problem is, do we have all three groups one color? Or each one a different color? And what colors to use?—Matt (talk) 00:24, December 23, 2008 (UTC)
- I don't think that we can make it have letters. I'm going to have to look into that. But for now I can make the names colored. I'll go find a good shade of orange.—Matt (talk) 10:01, December 23, 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Templates
Okay. The templates category was a mess. I went and cleaned it up. I updated what needed to be updated and deleted some nonsense ans duplicates.—Matt (talk) 15:10, December 24, 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Help
Hi, I'm new here. I wanna help the wiki out, so I created a category about episodes that focus on Stan, and I'm gonna make categories for episodes about a lot of the other categories too. However, that's where I need help. Could you try to help me with what episodes focus on what character(s)? South Park Lover Alix 18:11, 24 December 2008 (UTC)
- Well, starting a project on it here will help. There are not very many members around. I'd be able to help.—Matt (talk) 20:26, December 24, 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Wiki Stuff
Mr. Garrison, with the recent changes to the wiki's interface, I think we should start responding to things on the original page. This will keep talks together and make them easier to follow and refer to later on. It isn't that difficult to see that someone has responded to you on such a low traffic site anyway.
You and I can see new edits easily because now there will be a little red exclamation point next to unpatrolled edits. To patrol the edit, click on the diff link and there will be a link there that says "Mark as patrolled". This way, we can tell what each of us has already looked at. I've been using this at Zelda Wiki.org for the last month and it works great. That is why I requested that it be enabled right away.—Matt (talk) 20:26, December 24, 2008 (UTC)
- Good idea, and the exclamation mark works very nicely, I've just seen it. Merry Christmas, and I won't be on tomorrow (or Boxing Day probably), so enjoy the festive period! Mr. Garrison 20:42, 24 December 2008 (UTC)
- Thanks.
- Oh, and something else too. For most members, fifty of the most recent edits on the recent changes is enough. But for admins, I'm thinking that we should have it at either 250 or 500. Just go to your preferences to set it at that. I also expanded the delete and block reason yesterday. I felt the previous set was insufficient. I also cleaned a few system messages. There are others I can do to. The most annoying one I fixed was the copyrights link you see when editing pages. The MediaWiki default used the wrong code by mistake. The code that generates the wiki name with underscores instead of spaces is for use in full URLs, not for normal wiki links.
- There is one interface change that I want to run by you first. Are you okay with capitalizing the "c" in the page title of the recent changes? I want to do it for a few reasons: it looks better, most words are supposed to be capitalized in titles anyway (regardless whatever crazy idea Wikipedia has on that these days), it makes the site look more professional, and the URL has it capitalized.—Matt (talk) 20:51, December 24, 2008 (UTC)
- Seeing as it matches the URL thats okay, as it does make it look more professional. Mr. Garrison 20:59, 24 December 2008 (UTC)
I got the title and the one in the user preferences tab. Speaking of capitalization, there are some page title standards I think we should have. Over at Zelda Wiki we have made it a policy to capitalize every single word in a page title. The excludes the short, commons words like "a", "of", and "the" when not at beginning of course. It was a good move. The site looks a lot more uniform and consistent and for more professional. We should do that here.—Matt (talk) 21:58, December 24, 2008 (UTC)
- Is this page of any use anymore? Should we start it up again?—Matt (talk) 19:43, December 25, 2008 (UTC)
[edit] South Park Event
Hi Mr. Garrison,
My name's Karim. I do marketing for the South Park wiki. I was thinking, if its not too much trouble, that it would be a great idea to update the "upcoming Episode" box on the main page, since the ring episode already aired on Wednesday. Don't know if you saw the episode, but it was funny as hell. Disney definitely got punked. Anyways, I also wanted to reach out and say hi. Feel free to contact me if you ever have any questions or concerns :)
Best,

[edit] Featured article of the month.
Hi, Mr. Garrison! Long time no see. I've been away working in other wikis for nearly a year now, and it took up most of my time and enthusiasm. Lately though, I decided to come back here and help out a little.
My message to you right now is about the following: I think we should be a little more ambitious with our "Featured Article of the Month" project. I remember in January last year, I was surprised when you said that a featured article of the month can be almost any article here. I also remember that you said that someday we might get around to making the system a little more sophisticated, perhaps a little more Wikipedian in style. Well, I think now's as good a time as any. Over in Land Before Time Wiki, one of the wikis which had me most occupied (the most, in fact) I set up different policies for different types of articles. There are project pages describing the Featured Article criteria for character, film/episode, voice actors/real-world crew members, and other things there. I wonder if we might be able to create FA-criteria pages for the different types of articles here, perhaps? Will-Girl 08:43, 10 April 2009 (UTC)
- Hold on, you want to add the scripts of the episodes? Won't that make the articles describing them kind of pointless? Will-Girl 19:45, 10 April 2009 (UTC)
- There is a website which has all of the scripts, here: [1] Could we not just add a link to a script on this site at the bottom of every episode page? Will-Girl 19:46, 10 April 2009 (UTC)
