Trivia
- This is the final episode to feature Butters as Kenny's replacement before being replaced with Tweek in the following episode, "Professor Chaos".
- The medal attached to Russell Crowe's chest is most probably a reference to his grandfather's OBE decoration that Crowe wore to the 2001 Academy Awards ceremony.
- When one of Russell's fight scenes is cut short, he confronts and beats up the editor. This is a reference to when he was partly cut out at the 2002 BAFTA awards, and went on to accost the show's producer because of it. The part that was cut out was a poem he read, and then screaming at the editor, "That fighting's my poetry! No one edits my poetry!".
- This is one of the only two episodes to be shown in real time, the other being season 11's "The Snuke", which parodies 24.
- In Australia, the UK and possibly some other countries, the episode was cut with fewer ad breaks, meaning they were not synchronized with the ad breaks in Fightin' Around the World.
- In the game Red Dead: Redemption, there is an achievement/trophy called Fightin' Around the World, which is a reference to Russell Crowe's show.
- In the scenes where the kids are running between houses, every house on the block has the house number 2001.
References to Popular Culture

Continuity
- The homeless man who is killed by the TV robot is the same one that bought the kids' tickets to the first Terrance and Phillip movie in South Park: Bigger, Longer & Uncut.
- When the kids go to the retirement home, the old people are watching Puppies From Around the World which was also seen in the previous episode, "Fun with Veal".
- This is the second time the boys are kicked out of Skeeter's Bar and Cocktails, the first time was in "Sexual Harassment Panda".
- This marks the ED-209-esque robot's second appearance since Kenny had used it as a Halloween costume in "Korn's Groovy Pirate Ghost Mystery".
- Terrance and Phillip's new movie is the sequel to the film they made in South Park: Bigger, Longer & Uncut. This film is, according to "Terrance and Phillip: Behind the Blow", their first collaboration since the first Asses of Fire.
