Trivia

  • Gerald is called 'Kyle's Dad' in the commercial for this episode.
  • Skeeter says to the boys that he "doesn't take kindly to 4th graders around here", but in "The Red Badge of Gayness" when the boys were in the bar, he didn't say anything to them.
  • The Bartender let the boys stay in his bar but in "The New Terrance and Phillip Movie Trailer", He told them to get out.
  • This episode implies that Principal Victoria is a murderer.
  • This is the first appearance of Skeeter, owner of Skeeter's Bar and Cocktails and his friends.
  • Find the lyrics to Peetie Panda's song here.
  • This is the first episode after South Park: Bigger, Longer & Uncut.
    • Trey Parker and Matt Stone claim that they were so exhausted and hungover from doing the South Park movie that they have no memory of making this episode.

  • A picture of what looks to be the stuffed frog from the episode "The Mexican Staring Frog of Southern Sri Lanka" can be seen in the classroom.
  • This episode was inspired by the many high profile cases of sexual harassment in schools that occurred in the 1990s. This was likely spun off into the public consciousness due to the sexual harassment charges made against then President Bill Clinton.
  • Gerald justifies his law suits due to the Democrats. Changes to sexual harassment law by the Democratic Party during the 1990s led to charges of potentially frivolous lawsuits, due to the vagueness of the law.
  • Skeeter questions why, if pandas live in the mountains, they eat bamboo, which is located in drier, more arid regions. Skeeter is misinformed—pandas use to reside in lower regions of China and Tibet until development by humans forced them to relocate to higher regions for food.

References to Popular Culture

  • Peetie the Sexual Harassment Panda sometimes goes to the length of replacing regular nouns with the word "panda" much like the Smurfs replace both nouns and verbs with the word "Smurf".
  • Judge Julie is a parody of TV judge Judge Judy whose show began airing in 1996. She has been often criticized for her abrasive behavior when dealing with some of the people standing before her court.
  • Gerald's advertisement is a parody of numerous television commercials where lawyers use flashy gimmicks and dialogue to entice people to seek their legal services. Often big cash settlements are promised, along with claims that they will win your case or they won't charge you a fee.
  • Mr. Garrison is actually teaching the children something factual in this episode: He asks them when Ulysses S. Grant was President of the United States. He was the 18th President from 1869-1877.
  • Sexual Harassment Panda goes to Island of Misfit Mascots; this is a parody of the Island of Misfit Toys featured in the animated Christmas special Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer.
  • The bartender's request to not cause any trouble in his bar is a common cliché from films and television originating from many westerns such as the The Proud Ones.

  • When Gerald and Randy just won the lawsuit, they're sitting at a table. Under the table, you can see that Gerald's legs are gone.
  • During the court case Eric Cartman v. Stan Marsh, a white version of Token Black can be briefly seen in the background.
  • When Kyle says "I've tried talking to him, but he doesn't want the lawsuits to stop. He's making too much money.", he raises his hands from his side. During the first sentence, his left hand raises first, and his thumb briefly flickers to black. Then later in that sentence, when he raises his right hand up, his hand briefly goes from his skin color to a green glove, and then back again in a very short time.
