Rebecca (a.k.a. Bertha, Red) is a character in the animated series South Park and a student at South Park Elementary and up until the sixth season, she was a character who never spoke on her own and was usually seen at the back of the main characters' class. Now she has spoken in many episodes, been shown in almost every episode existing, and sits at the front of the main charactors class, usually to the far right. Rebecca is one of "the popular girls" in the fourth grade. She is almost always shown with the other popular girls like Wendy, Bebe, Millie, Annie, Esther, Lola, Heidi, and sometimes Sally.
In Bebe's Boobs Destroy Society, an episode of season six, she was given her first speaking role. In this episode, Wendy brought up that she could stand Bebe anymore. The girls begin talking nastily about Bebe. Rebecca then says: "You know what I heard? I heard that she made out with eight different boys in one minute." After this she didn't speak untill season eight in The Jeffersons where she says two words. In season eight again, in Stupid Spoiled Whore Video Playset she spoke a lot. After this season, primarily Stupid Spoiled Whore Video Playset, Rebecca was considered as a secondary charactor. In season nine she played an important role in Marjorine where she was one of the girls at Heidi Turner's sleepover. In Erection Day she speaks again to Jimmy. Her role has been gradually increasing since this. Before, people used to recognize her as the red haired girl who was seen in the background of many episodes.
Rebecca also appears to be interested in music, particularly Justin Timberlake, as shown in Marjorine. When the girls were suggesting ideas of what they could do at Heidi's sleepover party, Rebecca stated that she brought the new Justin Timberlake CD and that they should dance to it. After they give Marjorine a make-over, they all dance to it. Which also shows that Rebecca has a fun attitude.
Rebecca has been shown to be one of the very popular girls in the grade. She may even be more popular than Wendy or Bebe. In many different episodes, she has been shown in the background with many different girls. In the older episodes, she was shown in almost every episodes, being followed by boys, which could be suggesting that she is also very pretty and attractive. Also when Clyde became aware that he was the cutest boy in the class in The List, the first person he asked out was Rebecca. In Erection Day, when Jimmy found out he had to have sex with someone to stop having his erection problems, the first person he went to was Rebecca. Also in Something You Can Do with Your Finger, when Cartman payed all of the girls to go crazy for there music video, he chose Rebecca to hug and rub him over all of the other girls, there-again, showing that Rebecca is one of the cutest girls in the grade.
Rebecca is shown to be on the school cheerleading squad along with other girls like Bebe, Heidi, Esther, Annie, and another girl named Mandy, who has a slur like Stan's sister Shelley Marsh. Rebecca is shown to be leading the team along with Bebe and Mandy. They presented in Douche and Turd infront of the whole school indroducing their mascott, Mooey the Cow, for the school pep rally.
Rebecca was partners with Craig on the egg science project in Follow that Egg!, and could also be his cousin due to close resemblence in their fathers: Skeeter and Thomas Tucker, though it has never been proven.

[edit] Appearance
She has similar hair to Wendy Testaburger, another female in her class, but instead of being black, her hair is red. She also has very similar hair to another girl named Sally. The two both have red hair and look very similar. She used to wear a dark blue jacket with purple pants. Now she wears a navy blue jacket with buttons and mauve trimming at the top instead. Her hair is red, like Sally's, albeit with the pattern of the bangs going the other way and also shorter in length. Because of her hair, and the color of her jacket, she is often confused with Sally (a.k.a. Powder). Rebecca and Sally also have a very similar voice. The differences in their appearances are that Rebecca doesn't have a butterfly clip in her hair, and Sally is in a blue sweater, and Sally also wears green pants, unlike Rebecca's which are blue.
In Cartman Gets An Anal Probe, she was shown to be wearing a violet jacket with tan trimming and matching mittens, while on the bus with Bebe (who also wore a different outfit).
In Stupid Spoiled Whore Video Playset, when she was dressed as a "stupid spoiled whore", Rebecca wore a violet bolero jacket with brown fur trim, an orange string bikini top, a denim miniskirt, fishnets, and teal boots. She also had pink blush on her face, blue eye shadow, pink lipstick, and her hair was very glossy. During the whore-off scene, she wore a pair of violet gloves mainly because the outside was cold.
When dressed for the sleepover in "Marjorine", she wore a golden-yellow, blue button-down top with a deep yellow lace collar, and yellow, blue, and white striped pajama pants.

[edit] Personality
Rebecca has played a modest role as a part of Wendy's gang. Sometimes, she has been portrayed as the more confrontational of the girls, demonstrated when she called out "Marjorine" (actually Butters disguised as a girl) and called her a geek and said she'd live alone for the rest of her life at Heidi Turner's sleepover, and when she warned Wendy about the corrupted list of the cutest boys at South Park Elementary. Rebecca has also shown a bit of a kind personality.
In some episodes she has been kind to many people and engaging in friendly conversations with many people, like in Erection Day she kindly greets Jimmy when he comes to talk to her, but when she hears what he has to say she becomes very disgusted with him and slaps him.
A trait of courage was shown in Marjorine when the girls did "Light as a feather, stiff as a board", when Rebecca voulenteered to go first. This is a very spirtual activity and when Marjorine (Butters) saw them doing this he was screaming and acusing them of being witches.
She has also been shown to like to party, like in Marjorine where she was shown dancing to the new Justin Timberlake CD with her friends after they gave Marjorine (Butters) a make-over. She was also shown in Douche and Turd that she was on the school cheerleading squad along with some other girls. Another hint which shows that she likes to dance and party.
[edit] Commercialism
In Roger Ebert Should Lay Off the Fatty Foods, Rebecca is shown in the Cheezy Poofs commercial that Cartman was supposed to be in. During the episode, Cartman was bragging to the third grade class (which they were in at the time) about how he won the competition and how he was going to be in the Cheesy Poofs commercial. Everyone was jealous of Cartman but Rebecca must have been selected to be in the commercial by the company. She was actually shown more in the commercial than Cartman was.
[edit] Website
Rebecca has been shown on the official South Park website on the "Watch Episodes" button. This shows that the South Park team does care about her and take her as an important character (As normally, main characters are shown here).
[edit] Family
[edit] Skeeter
In Good Times With Weapons, during the town meeting discussing Cartman's incident at the carnival, it is revealed that Skeeter is her father (she is sitting next to him as he makes his comment). There is a resemblence between the two, as she carries Skeeter's red haired trait. Although hers is a darker shade of red than his. It is still unknown who her mother is though.
[edit] Craig
If Skeeter and Craig's father, Thomas, are brothers (as is possible, due to their close resemblance) then that would make Craig and his family Rebecca's cousins. Rebecca also worked with Craig on the egg project. This could also mean that her last name is Tucker.
[edit] Relationships
[edit] Stan
In Stupid Spoiled Whore Video Playset, she held Stan down and kissed him. Although, it is never implied, it's a possibility that she might had a crush on Stan. But it is highly unlikely because every girl in that episode was acting like that so it proves nothing personal between the two.
[edit] Bridon
In Elementary School Musical she says that she would give anything to be with Bridon Guermo, after Bebe brings up that she saw him at the movies seeing High School Musical 3. But then she points out that he would never go for her because she is nobody. Wendy tells her that it's not true and then breaks into song.
[edit] Terrance Mephisto
In World Wide Recorder Concert they were seen sitting side by side while performing at the concert, and while riding then leaving the bus. Also in Trapper Keeper, they are sitting next to each other on the the bus behind Cartman and Kenny. But Rebecca also sat with Kevin alot in the old episodes so there is no proof of any relations between the two.
[edit] Token
Rebecca was shown to be dancing with Token in Hooked On Monkey Phonics.
[edit] Clyde
In The List, it was revealed that Rebecca was dating Clyde, but this was only because of the girls plot to get free shoes from him. So we can not say that she actually "liked" him, especially because on the real list that one fan calculated, Clyde was listed number thirteen, meaning that he was one of the bottom five cutest guys in the class.
[edit] Kevin
In the earlier seasons, Rebecca was often shown in the background with Kevin, simply hanging out or at lunch (the two were shown to be trading sandwiches in "Sexual Harassment Panda"). The two of them also appeared together at Cartman's party in Damien. It is however possible that their relationship has been discontinued, as in episodes such as The Return of the Fellowship of the Ring to the Two Towers and Fatbeard, Kevin is portrayed as a geek with an obsession of Star Wars, and Rebecca is shown to be one of the popular girls in the school, making it highly unlikely that there is any relationship between the two. Also, as Rebecca's role in the series has gradually increased, the two have not been shown together.
[edit] Jimmy
It appeared in Erection Day that Rebecca may have had a bit of a liking for Jimmy, when he approached her, she seemed really friendly and a bit shy, however this turned right around after Jimmy asked her immediatly to have sex with her. She then slapped him, called him a jerk, and walked away disgusted with him.
[edit] Friendships
[edit] Annie
Rebecca and Annie have appeared together in the background from early on, though it's become more common to see them together in the more recent seasons, implying that the two may have a close friendship like that of Wendy and Bebe's but Rebecca has also been shown being followed by many boys and girls, showing that she is very popular and has many good friends. And still of all these appearances, she has been shown with Annie the most.
[edit] Name Dispute
Rebecca's name is often given as "Red" in the scripts and on the official website. She is also referred to as "Red" in Follow that Egg! and Elementary School Musical, making her real moniker a bit of a mystery. But it might be a nickname, as many of the children are either called by nicknames, like Butters whose real name is Leopold, or by their surnames. She is called Red because of her "Red" hair.
Though she was referred to as "Bertha" in Erection Day, her name wound up changed to Rebecca in The List.
She is not to be confused with the similarly-named Rebecca Cotswolds.
[edit] Quotes
(While the girls are eating lunch)
Wendy: Can you believe Bebe? She thinks she's so cool all of a sudden.
Millie: I can't stand her anymore; she's such a slut.
Esther: She's a total slut.
Rebecca: You know what I heard? I heard that she made out with eight different boys in one minute.
The girls were cheerleading for the school pep rally lead by Bebe and Rebecca.
Rebecca: Hey South Park! Do you have school spirit?
The whole school began to boo.
Bebe: I think us Cows' have the best school spirit, huh Mandy!
Mandy: Yeah! And South Park's really gunna stick it to Littletown next week!
Bebe: Yeah, so let's bring out our mascott and get this pep rally going!
The cheerleaders begin to dance.
Stupid Spoiled Whore Video Playset:
The girl's were trying to be whores like Paris Hilton and we talking about Bebe's Stupid Spoiled Whore party that she was going tonight.]]
Wendy: Oh hey Bebe, I heard you were having a party tonight.
Bebe: You wouldn't be interested Wendy, my parents are out of town, so it's a Stupid Spoiled Whore party.
Wendy: I'm a Stupid Spoiled Whore!
Annie: Right, please Wendy, you're like class president and stuff.
Rebecca: Yeah, and you get straight A's in school.
Bebe: You're not even spoiled because your family gives money to charity.
Rebecca: You don't want to go to this party Wendy, were inviting all the boys, and were going to play spin the bottle, and do ketamine.
Wendy: That sounds okay!
Annie: Oh please Wendy, do you even know what ketamine is?
Wendy: Yes!
Annie: See! You are too smart!
Rebecca: Yeah, we have no idea what ketamine is!
The girls all begin laughing as Wendy walks away.
Millie/Jesse (A breif name mistake): Talk to ya, Bertha.
Red/Bertha: Okay, see ya later, Jessie! (turns to put something in her locker, shuts it, and then walks away)
Jimmy: Hey, Bertha.
Red/Bertha: (looks at him) Oh hey, Jimmy. Uhh... What's going on?
Jimmy: Well, Bertha, I was wondering if I could stick my penis in your vagina?
Red/Bertha: (taken aback) What?? No way!
Jimmy: But the talent show is tomorrow! (Red/Bertha slaps him) Ooh!
Red/Bertha: Jerk! (angrily walks away)
(In the girls' list making meeting)
Wendy Go ahead Stan.
Stan: Uhh, I think you might have voted a little haistily on the cutest boy.
Rebecca: You thought you should be number one?
Stan: No!
Bebe Let me assure you that no list is made haistily by this comitee!
Wendy: He didn't mean that! He was just saying that maybe we should re-open it up for discussion.
(Later in that episode)
Rebecca: (sees Wendy at the door) Oh hey, Wendy.
Wendy: Hey, Rebecca. Do you still have the voter cards for the list that rated the boys' looks?
Rebecca: (laughing it off) Oh ho, Wendy, we're done with that list.
Wendy: I know, but I think there's been a mistake. Six of the girls I've talked to didn't vote Clyde the cutest. That means that mathematically he should have been–
Rebecca: (threateningly) All right, you need to stop...digging...around, Wendy! (stops to look and see if there's anyone else within earshot. Continues) You may not like what you find! (comes near her) Just back off and stop asking questions. (Now right in her face) You're getting close to a secret that I don't think you can handle. (Begins to back away) Let it go!
Rebecca: (To the Goth Kids outside the school) Hey, emo kids, Cartman and Wendy are gonna fight after school! (retreats back inside)
A Goth Kid: Did she just call us emos?
Red/Rebecca: I'd give anything to be with Bridan Güermo, but he'd never go for me. I'm nobody.
Wendy: That's not true, Red. Everyone has something that makes them unique.
(The class is playing Call of Duty 5 while in computer class)
Stan: What! Who's using the Flak Jacket cheat!
Rebecca: It's not a cheat if you level up. (Being the one who used it)
(After class the students ran into the hall. The boys where all exited and the girls didn't know what they were exited about. When Wendy wondered why, the boys started to explain to the girls about what it was they were exited about.)
Butters: There finally going to show part two of last week's Terrance and Philip episode!
Clyde: They're going to finally reveal who Philip farted on to get out of jail!
Rebecca: Oh God, that show is so dumb!
Cartman: Dumb! Philip farted in someones face super hard, but you don't know who untill this weeks episode!
(Later in that episode after saying a few breif things)
(The girls were annoyed with the boys for being so critical about queefs.)
Bebe: I can't believe they're this upset!
Rebecca: God they're annoying!
Annie: I don't even know what a queef is.
Wendy: It's where a girl shoots air out her vag Annie.
Annie: Oh...
Rebecca: You know that girl Samantha Dunskin, she can make herself queef whenever she wants.
Bebe: Really?
Wendy: Wait a minute, I've got an idea.
[edit] Episodes in Which She is Prominent
(First speaking role. She and the other girls gossip about Bebe, with her saying that she heard Bebe made out with eight different boys in one minute.)
(Rebecca is part of the cheerleading squad presenting infront of the school at the pep rally.)
(She plays probably her biggest role in any episode here, talking in many scenes. As Wendy becomes unpopular with the girls, Rebecca takes Wendy's place.)
(When Jimmy asks her to have sex with him, she slaps him and calls him a jerk. This is the first and only time as of yet when she has been called "Bertha".)
(She is one of the girls at Heidi's sleepover, and is the object in the game "Light as a feather, stiff as a board". She also speaks the most out of all the girls, next to Heidi)
(She is officially referred to as "Red" for the first time)
(Now called Rebecca, she is part of the voting committee and warns Wendy to quit looking for the secret behind the rigged voting)
(She calls the Goth Kids 'emos')
(She says that Bridon will never go out with her because she's nobody, but Wendy reassures her that she is special, and breaks into song)
(She uses the flak jacket perk, and then tells Stan that "It's not a cheat because she ranked up")
(Comments on the boys' stupidity a number of times)
Red is also an unlockable character at the xbox 360 game: South Park Let's Go Tower Defense Play!
