Mary Kay Bergman (June 5, 1961 – November 11, 1999) was an American actress, voice artist, and comedienne who portrayed many well-known female characters on South Park, as well as South Park: Bigger, Longer & Uncut. She was replaced by Eliza J. Schneider and Mona Marshall after her death in 1999.

Bergman began working on the series from the start in 1997 with "Cartman Gets an Anal Probe" until her suicide due to mental health issues on November 11, 1999. Her last episode was "Hooked on Monkey Fonics." She worked under the alias Shannen Cassidy in Season One and the first half of Season Two to avoid conflicts with her work under Disney.

The next episode "Starvin' Marvin in Space" was dedicated to her and "Mr. Hankey's Christmas Classics" paid tribute by having clips of all the characters she played shown over Mr. Hankey and the boys singing "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas."

The 72nd Academy Awards

Robin Williams performed the song "Blame Canada" at the Academy Awards in tribute to Bergman. The winner was Phil Collins' "You'll be in My Heart," which started the Collins teasing on South Park.
