I Was Not the Bullet is a rap song sung by Eric Cartman, with Butters Stotch beatboxing and preforming backup, seen in the Season Seventeen episode, "World War Zimmerman".

Background

Cartman, with Butters, perform this song at the school assembly. It was meant to diffuse a supposed race riot between black and white people over the acquittal of the State of Florida v. George Zimmerman trial. At the end of the song's call and response segment, Token defends himself verbally against Cartman's irrational paranoia. Cartman becomes scared Token is starting a race riot and runs home to get his handgun.

He may have come up with the rap due to Token criticizing his earlier poem for not rhyming. also named "I Was Not the Bullet" done is free verse non-rhyming style

Lyrics

Cartman:
I was not the bullet
Black or white, it's alright
Black or white, psychos, it's not fine
I was not the bullet
I was not the gun
I was not the jury, so don't
Blame me son
Zimmerman was wrong

Butters:
That's right
Cartman:
Zimmerman was wrong
Butters:
Damn right he was
Cartman:
Black or white, it's alright
Black or white, let's not fight

Call and Response
White people say ho!
Students:
Ho!
Cartman:
Black people say hey!
Token and Nichole:
(no response)
Cartman:
White people say ho-ho!
Students:

Cartman:
Black people say hey-hey-hey!
Token and Nichole:

Cartman:
Uh-oh, I think the white people are winning
White people got you beat
Black people, you better represent!
Let me hear you say "I don't blame the white people
No-no-no—"
