Terry behind window
  • The CN Tower, located in Toronto, Canada is visible through Terry’s window on the right, suggesting that Terry’s office for the Canadian Health Department is Headquartered in Toronto.
  • Kyle Broflovski reveals that Ike Broflovski is five years younger than him.
  • One of the promos for the episode had Ike asking Kyle, "How'd you get so fucking stupid?!" However, that line was never said in the episode.
  • Kenny has no lines in this episode. Cartman has only two, while Stan and Butters only have one.
  • Wendy Testaburger and Tolkien Black are not seen in Mr. Garrison's class in this episode.
  • Despite being a major character in Yo Gabba! Gabba!, DJ Lance Rock is not present at all with the main cast.
    • Plex is DJ Lance's helper, so it’s possible that he still guards the Gabba Gang without him.
  • Brobee, one of the main Yo Gabba! Gabba! characters is always shown as having a neutral facial expression, despite the show always depicting him as having either a happy or sad expression.
  • In a similar situation, Foofa is shown at one point to have a sad facial expression, despite the show always depicting her as having a smiling expression.
    • Also, a sad Foofa is seen having a smiling expression after Muno bit her in the episode that was the basis for the song “Don’t Bite People”.
  • Ike‘s comment to watching Dora The Explorer at the end of the episode suggests that Dora is Puerto Rican and therefore Latin-American, however there has been some debate over the years about her actual nationality. Insider (Business Insider) claimed that Dora was pan-latin, as in a mix of Latin and European ancestry, which means Dora would actually be Mestizo. [1]

  • Pat Conners is a stand in for Kathleen Sebelius, Barack Obama's Secretary of Health and Human Services who was in charge of Healthcare.gov.
  • IntelliLink is a reference to the problems associated with the Obamacare website, Healthcare.gov.
  • Mr. Mackey's computer plays Lionel Richie's "All Night Long" and Glenn Frey's "The Heat is On".
  • The introduction to the puberty video is a take on an obscure Canadian children's educational program that aired in the 70s and 80s called All About You.
  • Foofa's decision to appeal to adult audiences is reminiscent of singer/actress Miley Cyrus, who originally had a generally wholesome teen idol image on her Disney show Hannah Montana. She began dressing and behaving in a more risqué fashion after the show ended in 2011.
    • Foofa's performance at the MTV Video Music Awards also reflects Miley Cyrus' controversial performance at the 2013 VMA.
    • One of Foofa's pose during the montage features Foofa riding on the wrecking ball, which is a clear reference to Miley Cyrus' "Wrecking Ball" music video.
    • Irish singer Sinéad O'Connor sent an open letter to Miley Cyrus, advising her not to let the music industry executives exploit her sexuality. As a reference to the previously mentioned confirmation, this episode at one point has O’Connor help the other Yo Gabba Gabba characters try and convince Foofa not to expose herself on television but fail.
  • A Bieber World Tour poster can be seen in the background when the Yo Gabba Gabba characters are talking to Ike about his behavior on stage.
  • Ike's diuretic medication was switched with New England Patriots Quarterback Tom Brady's hormone medication.
  • The Rolling Stone magazine is a parody of the October 10, 2013 issue, which featured Miley Cyrus posing in a pool and covering her exposed breasts.
  • Two cover lines on Rolling Stone read, "The Last Days of NIRVANA: Yep, we're still talking about them." and "Eddie Vedder (Yep, him, too)", criticizing how often Rolling Stone publishes articles about the grunge band Nirvana and Eddie Vedder, who is the lead singer and rhythm guitarist of Pearl Jam.
  • Another line on the Rolling Stone magnetize reads "Sheryl Crow: Still Relevant", referring to singer Sheryl Crow.
  • In the Foofa montage, besides Rolling Stones magazine are covers for FHM and Maxim magazine. Both are actual publications that cover topics aimed at young men and feature female celebrities on their covers.
  • When Tom Brady ends up on the ground after crapping in his pants, he ends up sitting in the same pose he took after his pass was intercepted during the 4th quarter of the 2012 Super Bowl, costing him and his team the win. This pose is known as "Bradying", which Mr. Mackey is seen in immediately after the Brady scene.
  • In the end, Ike is seen watching Dora the Explorer on television.
  • Ike was chewing Skoal Straight tobacco in this episode.
  • IntelliLink was also the same name for the telematics/infotainment system devices provided by General Motors for vehicles such as Buick, GMC, Opel and Vauxhall, which functions almost similar like in this episode. The user interface looks nearly the same and has most likely inspired the episode.

  • This is the second appearance of Tom Brady since "Sarcastaball".
  • Ike Broflovski confronts Kyle about his game, "Kick the baby!", a popular catchphrase from early episodes.
  • The queef bit is a reference back to "Eat, Pray, Queef".
  • The Canadian Healthcare video also references the buddy/guy/friend bit from "Canada on Strike".
  • This is the second episode where one of the children takes hormones, albeit unknowingly. Stan first takes hormones in "Are You There God? It's Me, Jesus", in order to go through puberty after believing his friends are going through it.
  • The "Bradying" meme that Mr. Mackey and Tom Brady do in this episode was previously mentioned in "Faith Hilling".
  • When Tom Brady was saying "Hut hut" it was a callback to Randy Marsh saying "Hot hot hot" from the episode More Crap as they both were defecating.

  • Tom Brady somehow receives medication from Canada, even though he is American.
  • The logo for Yo Gabba Gabba! is yellow, light blue, and orange, when it is supposed to be blue, yellow, and pink.
  • A Justin Bieber poster appears in the background, even though he was killed in "Coon vs. Coon & Friends".
  • When Terry is talking to his friend, Rick, Terry says "I try not to think about it, Rick." but he does not pronounce "about" as "aboot" like Canadians on South Park usually do. However, he then says "I try to forget about it" pronouncing it "aboot".
